Week 2 |
Since I had volunteered at Camp Edmo's after school program before deciding to do my internship here, I thought I knew what to expect. Little did I know the summer program was so different. The first week into my internship, I was helping out in the robotics lab. This consisted of gathering materials for the children activities, preparing lunch, and helping plan activities for upcoming dates. It was hard to adjust to the hours, after being able to sleep in for a week straight but it was worth it. I noticed the first week was a little chaotic due to the fact that everyone still had a lot to figure out, but I looked forward to the upcoming events.

At the beginning of every day during the second and third week we had a whole program meeting, with the campers and counselors. This gave us all a chance to connect, have fun, and give announcements. During the second week I was in the Minecraft room, I hadn't had a lot of experience with Minecraft but this was my chance to learn something new. In the Minecraft room there were mainly fourth and fifth graders, so they never needed much help. That never stopped it from being fun, especially when they'd teach me how to build my own custom home and survive in survival mode.
